Singapore American School…1

Singapore
American
School is a lot larger, spacious and dramatic than any other school I have ever attended or even visited. SAS has 3,417 students that attended the school from early Childhood to High school. The 8th grade alone has 319 kids, which is about the average of ever grade in the school.

There are different areas of the school, and each level of learning. There is an area that is only for elementary, an area that is only fro middle school and an area that is only meant for high scholars. The Middle school wing is broken up into three sections, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Each section is 3 levels. These levels are called sides. In the 8th grade we have 319 kids that are broken up into three floors. There is A side which is the bottom floor, B side the second and middle floor, and C side the third and top floor.  Each side has about 100 kids that have all their core classes on that level. I am on A side, the bottom floor. On this floor I have my locker, English class, science class, and social studies class. My math class is on C side only because I am in a high level math. My other classes are in different areas of the school.

Each school has its own facilities and SAS is the master of them. We have the following: 3 Fields (one is like the ISKL field, artificial), 5 Gyms, 5 Theaters, 1 (huge) climbing wall, 5 Dance studios, 2 fully operated drama studios, 3 pools, 2 cafeterias, 3 libraries, 1 400meter track, 2 base ball fields, 5 (or 6) tennis courts, 1 high ropes course, 4 locker rooms, 1 SUBWAY!!!, 1 smoothie bar, and a lot of other things! As you can see you can do just about anything that you want after school. Unfortunately middle scholars’ are not up for varsity team until high school.

I know about 150 kids in the 8th grade so far. The 100 on my side, and then the 50 more from other sides. I know them from other sides because electives, P.E., math classes are all three side mixed. This is just to mix us up al little more and not be stuck with the same 100 kids.

We use Powerschool and Black Board instead of Edline, and personally they are so much easier to use then Edline. Powerschool is the teachers grading system that we can see. So every grade that the teachers give for everything goes onto Powerschool and kids can see it and even check it daily and it has been updated.

Fun SAS facts: Each class has an average of 22 kids. There are soap dispensers in all the showers in the locker rooms. We are not allowed backpacks during school hours; you MUST use your locker. You are not allowed to turn in things done in any color other than blue or black. We have a free dress day about ever week, and we do not have to pay for them. Our morning announcements are on the TV. like a news station. Homeroom is called home base and goes for 20 minutes not 5.

Seven1

One was a light of a candle

Two was the color of the rain

Three was a fall and deeper

Four was a cry and shame

Five was a shiver in the winter

Six was a losing card

Seven was a hope i would fall to hard

One was a breath underwater

Two was a crash and burn

Three was a ghost of a lover

Four was a lot to be learned

Five was a living in a cradle

Six was a mercy cry

Seven was a hope you would naver say good bye.
